Heddon # 20 , 3/2, " Bill Stanley's Favorite", 9ft. 2 1/2 F ferrule, # 6/7 line. Wonderful original condition; one of the last years the rod was made with maroon silks , no tipping. Just a very fine quality cane with that singular Heddon treatment. With the original bag and tube.
Heddon # 19 , 9ft. 3/2, GBG or C , #7/8 line ( I like a #8 best). Heddon 2 3/4 F ferrule - Model " Riptide". Restored here per customers request and specifications with longer than original grip with thumb and palm prints and longer extension for 2 handed casting. Heddon # 19's were made from only 2 % of all heddon cane supplies, i.e. for strength and quality. Fully restored here at Redwing with real ships varnish, deep amber silks; black and white at ferrules and cork check A truly powerful casting machine designed primarily for heavy fresh water and salt water fishing. This one customized a bit and better for it!
Sunb & Salter ( British/ French) 2/1, made that way, #6 line medium parabolic " La Creuse".Beautiful caramel colored cane with perfect 3x3 node spacing, Hardy style grip with cap and ring, larger snake guides with NS stripper ( agate). Casts a nice crisp long line and works well short if needed. Rare to market at anytime. With original bag and labeled tube.
Paul Young 8 1/2 ft. bamboo fly rod, 3/1. Early model with beautiful yellowish/pink cane, blued ferrules, original cork reelseat etc. Young stamped cap, deep gold wraps, straight and tight. I had to replace a few wraps and rubbed it down ; added a new coat of varnish, so it can be fished without problems. has that backbone and steely action seen in all young rods. Some resorcinol glue lines present ( correct for the period) , company name on butt cap, rod is circa 1946-1955. With non original bag and non- original tube. It cast a # 5 /6 nicely with a true nod to the #6 DT or #6 silk.
Orvis 8 1/2 ft. 3/2, 6.7 oz. #7/8 line (8) inked on shaft ala Orvis; earlier model "Salmon". Impregnated, serial number 12958. Very fine original condition with original bag and labeled tube. Nice cork, chestnut wraps, all straight and tight with excellent ferrule fit and decent size removable extension butt. A perfect Midwest steelhead rod for our northers rivers that can be roll cast, and modified Spey cast as well.
REDWING FLY RODS
Ogden Smith ( London England) 9 ft. 3/1 ( made that way), model # B725, " The Duros Rod", #5/6 line as well as DT 6 silk. Their best trout weight model with fine cane work and 3x3 node spacing. Early 1950's era with original bag. A fine parabolic action and well mated with a reel such as a hardy perfect for balance. Pine green silk wraps and classic intermediates , agate stripper, nicely fitting blued ferrule, DL aluminum ring to a blued cap with excellent all cork seat and very good varnish. Will work well in many tactical fishing situations and just wonderful during a good summer hatch working a dry or nymph.
Redwing Fly Rods bamboo fly rods 7ft. 2/1 (made that way) resorcinol glue showing usual black lines at seams, blued super "Z" type ferrules, N/S cap and ring seat over classic chest nut seat, Mildrum stripper, gloss spar varnish, gold silks , black at ferrules. In very good but used condition. I built this rod for a customer from northern Wisconsin years ago; now too old to wade it come up for sale. It is inked " Night Giant" as it was purpose built our big hatches on our bigger river systems. Works well into the butt section to move line faster without false casting when the bats fly and darkness signals the bigger fish!
Paul Young Prosperity bamboo fly rod, 7ft. 6in. 3/1, original deep reddish shafts, original cork grip and seat with wood barrel. Seems to be a Heddon made rod because of the Heddon type N/S ferrules, with variegated silk, varnish has some bag rash ( rubbed out lightly here). The finish is sound for years to come, tip is down 1 inch; casts a #4/5 Wullf TT taper very nicely, light in the hand. With probably a non-original bag and metal tube. This rod originally started life in Michigan. A quick point and shoot, dry fly action.
Amherst Fly Rod Co. ( AFR co.) bamboo fly rod, 8ft. 3/2, for a # 4/5 line, 3 1/2 oz. A fine early rod from before WW11 with pumpkin colored varnish over excellent shafts, variegated silk wraps, all cork seat with cap and ring and N/S ferrules. One tip short 2 inches. Classic Eastern tapers with a nod to dry fly work. Basically all correct with intact inking for identification with non-original bag. The perfect rod to fish the historic/ classic flies and rarely seen in the market today.

Uslan 8ft. 2/1 ( made that way) #5/6 line, 5 sided dark caramel cane ( not impregnated). Strong parabolic taper; eliminated false casting, great for water you can move around in as well as windy conditions. Bright red silks, grip replaced as original a few years back and rod used sparingly since. Rare to the secondary market, especially in the dark cane tempering. Original tube; a bag will have to be ordered. Best Uslan deal you will find anywhere!
Phillipson Royal 9ft. Fiberglass 2/1 Fly Rod,# RF90HT, #9 line ( marked #10 line but #9 works best). In excellent original condition with original bag and tube. N/S ferrules , golden tinted bridged guides for strength. Can be fished one hand or two; I even did modified Spey casts with it. Very good cork with light staining, shafts are perfect. Designed to move long lines with big flies; fresh or salt. Beautiful tip sensitivity for light pick ups ala cold weather Steelhead. With bag and tube.
